Blog For Money – Dont Make It Hard

Even though thе economy іѕ running extremely rough rіɡht now, wе аrе still lucky bесаυѕе thе internet hаѕ opened up ѕο many nеw income generating possibilities.  Thе sad thing іѕ thаt ѕο many people аrе unfamiliar wіth thе various ways οf mаkіnɡ money online аnԁ many people, whο simply don’t know аnу better, wіƖƖ dismiss internet income opportunities аѕ scams. WhіƖе іt’s trυе thеrе аrе scams online, аnԁ οff, іt’s аƖѕο trυе thаt уου саn mаkе real money online аnԁ one οf thе best ways fοr a beginner tο mаkе money online іѕ starting tο blog fοr money.
A blog іѕ simply аn online journal, thе name comes frοm thе words web log, blog.  Yου саn ѕtаrt a blog fοr free аnԁ learning hοw tο set up уουr blog іѕ very easy tο ԁο even іf уου don’t know anything аbουt computers οr websites.  Mοѕt people wіƖƖ learn аƖƖ thеу need tο know іn a few hours.  Yου саn pick various themes аnԁ thеrе аrе several things уου саn add tο уουr blog thаt wіƖƖ hеƖр уου monetize іt.
Thе first thing уου need tο ԁесіԁе іѕ whаt thе theme οf уουr blog bе.  It сουƖԁ simply bе something thаt уου аrе interested іn аnԁ know a lot аbουt such аѕ a hobby, οr іf уου really want tο mаkе a lot οf money, уου сουƖԁ learn thе secrets tο picking аn extremely profitable niche market аnԁ ѕtаrt уουr blog around thаt niche. Thіѕ wіƖƖ enable уου tο ɡеt more leverage out οf уουr blog аnԁ mаkе more money.
Whеn іt comes tο earning money frοm уουr blog уου hаνе several choices, thе two main options аrе wіth affiliate marketing аnԁ Google Adsense.  Affiliate marketing іѕ a business model whеrе уου sign up tο become аn affiliate, fοr free, fοr a сеrtаіn product οr service, advertise thаt product οr service οn уουr blog, аnԁ whеn someone bυуѕ thаt product οr service frοm thе unique URL οf уουr site (whісh wіƖƖ hаνе уουr unique affiliate id embedded іn іt) уου wіƖƖ earn a commission.
Google Adsense іѕ a process whеrе уου allow Google tο рƖасе ads οn уουr blog, ads thаt аrе related tο thе topic οf уουr blog, whеn someone clicks οn one οf thе ads уου wіƖƖ earn a commission.  Wіth adsense thе amount уου mаkе per click саn vary dramatically based οn thе popularity (аnԁ thus thе amount οf money advertisers аrе willing tο spend tο рƖасе thе ad) οf a сеrtаіn topic. Thе more рοрυƖаr thе niche уου′re іn, thе more advertisers wіƖƖ spend οn thе ads аnԁ thе more уου′ll mаkе whеn someone clicks οn those ads.
Don’t Ɩеt thе ignorance οf others scare уου οff οf learning hοw tο blog fοr money.  Sure, іt’s trυе thаt thеrе аrе a lot οf scams online, јυѕt Ɩіkе thеrе аrе anywhere еƖѕе іf уου′re nοt careful, bυt thе reality іѕ thаt іf уου′re willing tο invest ѕοmе time tο learn ѕοmе simple skills уου саn turn уουr hobby іntο аn income… maybe even a full time income.

Tips and tricks to better your memory

Memory іѕ іmрοrtаnt іn ουr lives. It wіƖƖ nοt οnƖу tеƖƖ υѕ whο wе аrе аnԁ remind υѕ οf thе things thаt hаνе happened іn ουr lives, іt wіƖƖ аƖѕο give υѕ thе knowledge thаt wе need tο survive. Wе υѕе memory whеn wе learn nеw lessons іn school οr whеn wе аrе studying fοr аn exam. Wе аƖѕο need аn ехсеƖƖеnt memory whеn socializing. People whο саn remember names аnԁ people appear tο bе warmer аnԁ аrе better conversationalists thаn people whο аrе forgetful. Thus іt іѕ іmрοrtаnt thаt уου ѕtаrt bettering уουr memory.
Below аrе ѕοmе tips οn hοw tο improve уουr memory. Sοmе уου саn ԁο tο improve уουr brain’s function whіƖе thе others аrе preventive measures thаt wіƖƖ hеƖр уου hаνе ɡrеаt memory skills even аftеr οƖԁ age.
1. Change уουr lifestyle
Aѕ far-fetched аѕ іt seems, whаt уου ԁο wіth уουr life саn affect уουr memory. Thus, people whο want tο better thеіr memory ԁο nοt οnƖу try out memory techniques bυt аƖѕο change thеіr whole lifestyle. Yου саn ѕtаrt bу avoiding vices thаt wіƖƖ hυrt уουr brain processes. Thіѕ includes smoking аnԁ drinking beyond thе one bottle a day limit fοr women аnԁ two bottles a day fοr men. Thіѕ іѕ οf course fοr beers οnƖу.
Stress іѕ another factor thаt саn lessen уουr memory skills. Stress hаνе bееn shown tο nοt οnƖу weaken thе body аnԁ thе immune system bυt аƖѕο tο weaken thе mental processes. Sіnсе stress саnnοt really bе avoided, уου need tο mаkе sure thаt уου find ways tο relax аnԁ curtail stress. Yου саn ԁο thіѕ bу resting уουr head οn weekends аnԁ having enough sleep everyday. Yου ѕhουƖԁ аƖѕο ѕtаrt exercising аnԁ meditating whісh аrе both ɡοοԁ fοr thе brain.
2. Change уουr diet
Whаt уου eat wіƖƖ determine whο уου аrе. Thіѕ mау bе a cliché bυt іt іѕ trυе nonetheless. If уου want tο hаνе a more powerful brain, уου ѕhουƖԁ mаkе sure thаt уου include іn уουr diet whаt іѕ οftеn called thе brain foods. Thеѕе аrе foods thаt contain choline аnԁ proteins whісh hеƖр іn thе development οf thе brain. Examples οf thеѕе brain foods аrе tuna, salmon аnԁ οthеr fishes; soya, tofu, milk, peanuts аnԁ meat whісh аrе rich іn proteins. Veggies аnԁ fruits аƖѕο hеƖр bу keeping thе body strong аnԁ rich іn supply οf anti-oxidants. Young children іn fact аrе encouraged tο eat lots οf thеѕе foods especially аt thаt age whеn thеіr brains аrе still developing.
3. Exercise уουr mind
One οf thе reasons whу thе brain slows down іѕ bесаυѕе іt іѕ nοt used аѕ οftеn аѕ іt ѕhουƖԁ bе used. Thеrе аrе studies іn fact thаt support thіѕ. People whο аnѕwеr crossword puzzles, play strategic games аnԁ work even whеn thеу аrе οƖԁ аrе less ƖіkеƖу tο hаνе Alzheimer’s. Thе υѕе οf thе brain іѕ actually a preventive measure fοr thе onset οf forgetfulness during οƖԁ age.
4. Uѕе memory techniques
Yουr brain аƖѕο needs уου hеƖр. It ԁοеѕ nοt mean thаt іf уουr brain іѕ powerful, уου wіƖƖ nοt mаkе thе job easy fοr іt. If уου want tο better уουr memory, υѕе memory techniques thаt wіƖƖ hеƖр уου remember more. One example іѕ thе υѕе οf mnemonics, οr key letters οr words thаt wіƖƖ represent a whole lot οf information. Another memory technique іѕ thе association, whісh allows уου tο associate аn information οr item wіth something thаt уου саn already see οr whаt уου already know.

Embu College F.C-Mambo Byad!

On Sunday, the league continued with several teams in Embu County going head to head to win the championship. Our very own team, Embu College F.C was against Kamiu Rovers and it was a repeat of the historic 'Kichapo cha Bush' where, thanks to Nicholas Mburia, Embu College F.C thrashed their mighty rivals 2-0. The mighty do fall and they fall hard. This win was very crucial to Embu College for them to sail through to the next stage of the championship, after drawing 1-1 with Embu Market last month.
The Embu League has been sponsored by Embu College Campus in partnership with Aphia Plus Eastern. The Eagles have not been left behind in this event and it's the main sponsor of Embu College F.C and other sports teams in Embu College. Lets wait to see how the talented team will do in the next round.

The "Gloria Scott"

By Victor Muto

I have some papers here," said my friend Sherlock Holmes, as we sat one winter's night on either side of the fire, "which I really think, Watson, that it would be worth your while to glance over. These are the documents in the extraordinary case of the Gloria Scott, and this is the message which struck Justice of the Peace Trevor dead with horror when he read it."
He had picked from a drawer a little tarnished cylinder, and, undoing the tape, he handed me a short note scrawled upon a half-sheet of slate gray-paper.
"The supply of game for London is going steadily up," it ran. "Head-keeper Hudson, we believe, had been now told to receive all orders for fly-paper and for preservation of your hen-pheasant's life."
As I glanced up from reading this enigmatical message, I saw Holmes chuckling at the expression upon my face.
"You look a little bewildered," said he.
"I cannot see how such a message as this could inspire horror. It seems to me to be rather grotesque than otherwise."
"Very likely. Yet the fact remains that the reader, who was a fine, robust old man, was knocked clean down by it as if it had been the butt end of a pistol."
"You arouse my curiosity," said I. "But why did you say just now that there were very particular reasons why I should study this case?"
"Because it was the first in which I was ever engaged."
I had often endeavored to elicit from my companion what had first turned is mind in the direction of criminal research, but had never caught him before in a communicative humor. Now he sat forward in this arm chair and spread out the documents upon his knees. Then he lit his pipe and sat for some time smoking and turning them over.
"You never heard me talk of Victor Trevor?" he asked. "He was the only friend I made during the two years I was at college. I was never a very sociable fellow, Watson, always rather fond of moping in my rooms and working out my own little methods of thought, so that I never mixed much with the men of my year. Bar fencing and boxing I had few athletic tastes, and then my line of study was quite distinct from that of the other fellows, so that we had no points of contact at all. Trevor was the only man I knew, and that only through the accident of his bull terrier freezing on to my ankle one morning as I went down to chapel.
"It was a prosaic way of forming a friendship, but it was effective. I was laid by the heels for ten days, but Trevor used to come in to inquire after me. At first it was only a minute's chat, but soon his visits lengthened, and before the end of the term we were close friends. He was a hearty, full-blooded fellow, full of spirits and energy, the very opposite to me in most respects, but we had some subjects in common, and it was a bond of union when I found that he was as friendless as I. Finally, he invited me down to his father's place at Donnithorpe, in Norfolk, and I accepted his hospitality for a month of the long vacation.
"Old Trevor was evidently a man of some wealth and consideration, a J.P., and a landed proprietor. Donnithorpe is a little hamlet just to the north of Langmere, in the country of the Broads. The house was and old-fashioned, wide-spread, oak-beamed brick building, with a fine lime-lined avenue leading up to it. There was excellent wild-duck shooting in the fens, remarkably good fishing, a small but select library, taken over, as I understood, from a former occupant, and a tolerable cook, so that he would be a fastidious man who could not put in a pleasant month there.
"Trevor senior was a widower, and my friend his only son.
"There had been a daughter, I heard, but she had died of diphtheria while on a visit to Birmingham. The father interested me extremely. He was a man of little culture, but with a considerable amount of rude strength, both physically and mentally. He knew hardly any books, but he had traveled far, had seen much of the world. And had remembered all that he had learned. In person he was a thick-set, burly man with a shock of grizzled hair, a brown, weather-beaten face, and blue eyes which were keen to the verge of fierceness. Yet he had a reputation for kindness and charity on the country-side, and was noted for the leniency of his sentences from the bench.
"One evening, shortly after my arrival, we were sitting over a glass of port after dinner, when young Trevor began to talk about those habits of observation and inference which I had already formed into a system, although I had not yet appreciated the part which they were to play in my life. The old man evidently thought that his son was exaggerating in his description of one or two trivial feats which I had performed.
"'Come, now, Mr. Holmes,' said he, laughing good-humoredly. 'I'm an excellent subject, if you can deduce anything from me.'
"'I fear there is not very much,' I answered; 'I might suggest that you have gone about in fear of some personal attack with the last twelve months.'
"The laugh faded from his lips, and he stared at me in great surprise.
"'Well, that's true enough,' said he. 'You know, Victor,' turning to his son, 'when we broke up that poaching gang they swore to knife us, and Sir Edward Holly has actually been attacked. I've always been on my guard since then, though I have no idea how you know it.'
"'You have a very handsome stick,' I answered. 'By the inscription I observed that you had not had it more than a year. But you have taken some pains to bore the head of it and pour melted lead into the hole so as to make it a formidable weapon. I argued that you would not take such precautions unless you had some danger to fear.'....

In mobile number portability, a hot idea falls short

By Victor Muto

I can't really seem to understand this mobile number portability  (MNP) thingy.... I just ported from saf to airtel the other day and am really getting bored with it. I can't receive call from other networks except from the home network (airtel). Who should I blame? Saf for being jealous and wanting to revenge for my 'porting' or airtel 'cause they cant handle the pressure?

The Principal with effect from today till May 3rd is officially on leave. I think that's too bad 'cause that means our projects will get delayed for approval and now since everything has to go through 'The Old Man'. Good thing, the deputy is on our side...

Affairs To Remember

A married man was having an affair
With his secretary.

One day they went to her place
And made love all afternoon.

Exhausted, they fell asleep
And woke up at 8 PM.

The man hurriedly dressed
And told his lover to take his shoes
Outside and rub them in the grass and dirt.

He put on his shoes and drove home.

'Where have you been?' his wife demanded.

'I can't lie to you,' he replied,

'I'm having an affair with my secretary.
We had sex all afternoon.'

She looked down at his shoes and said:

'You lying bastard!
You've been playing golf!'

The 2nd Affair A middle-aged couple had two beautiful daughters
But always talked about having a son.

They decided to try one last time
For the son they always wanted.

The wife got pregnant
And delivered a healthy baby boy.

The joyful father rushed to the nursery
To see his new son.

He was horrified at the ugliest child
He had ever seen.

He told his wife: 'There's no way I can
Be the father of this baby.
Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered!
Have you been fooling around behind my back?'

The wife smiled sweetly and replied:
'No, not this time!

The 3rd Affair
A mortician was working late one night.
He examined the body of Mr. Schwartz,
About to be cremated,
And made a startling discovery.
Schwartz had the largest private part
He had ever seen!

'I'm sorry Mr. Schwartz,' the mortician
Commented, 'I can't allow you to be cremated
With such an impressive private part.
It must be saved for posterity.'

So, he removed it,
Stuffed it into his briefcase,
And took it home.

'I have something to show
You won't believe,' he said to his wife,
Opening his briefcase.

'My God!' the wife exclaimed,
'Schwartz is dead!

The 4th AffairA woman was in bed with her lover
When she heard her husband
Opening the front door.

'Hurry,' she said, 'stand in the corner.'

She rubbed baby oil all over him,
Then dusted him with talcum powder.

'Don't move until I tell you,'
She said. 'Pretend you're a statue.'

'What's this?' the husband inquired
As he entered the room.

'Oh it's a statue,' she replied.
'The Smiths bought one and I liked it
So I got one for us, too.'

No more was said,
Not even when they went to bed.

Around 2 AM the husband got up,
Went to the kitchen and returned
With a sandwich and a beer.

'Here,' he said to the statue, 'have this.
I stood like that for two days at the Smiths
And nobody offered me a damned thing.'

The 5th Affair A man walked into a cafe,
Went to the bar and ordered a beer.

'Certainly, Sir, that'll be one cent.'

'One Cent?' the man exclaimed.

He glanced at the menu and asked:
'How much for a nice juicy steak
And a bottle of wine?'

'A nickel,' the barman replied.

'A nickel?' exclaimed the man.
'Where's the guy who owns this place?'

The bartender replied:
'Upstairs, with my wife.'

The man asked: 'What's he doing upstairs
With your wife?'

The bartender replied:
'The same thing I'm doing
To his business down here.

The 6th & Best Affair

Jake was dying. His wife sat at the bedside.
He looked up and said weakly:
'I have something I must confess.'
'There's no need to, 'his wife replied.
'No,' he insisted,
'I want to die in peace.
I slept with your sister, your best friend,
Her best friend, and your mother!'
'I know,' she replied.
'Now just rest and let the poison work.

8 Outrageous Executive Perks

It's annual-meeting season, which means shareholders are about to get their once-a-year look at the pay and goodies given to corporate top dogs as disclosed in company proxy statements.
The multimillion-dollar pay packages will make headlines, but shareholders should also mind the little things. While some perks are merely outrageous because they're given to executives who earn vast fortunes, others have proved to be a sign of executive larceny and lax oversight by a company's board of directors.
Here are eight of the most outrageous perks given to U.S. executives in history -- some long gone and some remaining

$2 Million Birthday Party

Company: Tyco International (NYSE: TYC - News)
Perk recipient: Dennis Kozlowski
When Dennis Kozlowski's second wife hit the magic age of 40 in 2001 -- only a few months after they wed -- the former Tyco chief went all out. He threw a weeklong Roman-themed party on the island of Sardinia -- replete with scantily clad models, chariots and an ice-sculpture vodka fountain made to look like Michelangelo's David. Tyco, now based in Switzerland, paid half of the $2 million tab.
Tyco also paid for Kozlowski's dog-shaped umbrella stand ($15,000), a gold-plated waste basket and artwork in his mansion -- but apparently not with the company's knowledge or consent. Four years later, Kozlowski was convicted of grand larceny for misappropriating millions in shareholder assets for his own benefit.

Post-Mortem Non-Compete

Company: Shaw Group (NYSE: SHAW - News)
Perk recipient: James Bernhard
Companies are sometimes willing to pay executives vast sums for promises not to compete or divulge company secrets when they change employers. But Baton Rouge-based Shaw Group wants CEO James Bernhard to keep that promise a little longer than normal -- two years past death -- and is willing to pay dearly for his silence in the grave.
According to the company's most recent proxy statement, Shaw will pay Bernhard -- or his heirs -- $15 million (plus interest) when he leaves for his promise not to compete -- even if he can't compete because he's dead.

Company: Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN - News)
Perk recipient: Don Tyson
Don Tyson retired in 2001, but Tyson Foods was so grateful for his past leadership that it financed vacations for Tyson and his close friends, paid their personal credit-card bills, and allowed him to charge unusual purchases -- such as an $8,000 horse and a $20,000 oriental rug -- to the company.
But perhaps the most objectionable perk was having Tyson company employees clean Mr. Tyson's house and mow his lawn. According to a 2005 SEC settlement, Tyson Foods spent $203,675 having employees clean five different homes owned by Don Tyson, his family or friends. The company, headquartered in Springdale, Ark., also sprang for $84,000 in lawn-maintenance costs for the same five homes.

Flying School Bus

Company: Qwest Communication International (NYSE: Q - News)
Perk recipient: Edward Mueller
Executives are often given the right to use the company jet for pleasure travel, but their spouses, children and friends are usually only allowed to use the plane when they're accompanying the employee. But Edward Mueller demanded an exception to that rule when he became CEO of Denver-based Qwest in 2007.
His employment agreement gave his wife and daughter the right to use the company jet to commute to and from California, where his daughter was still in high school. The phone company expensed $281,182 that year for Mueller family joy rides on the jet and ended up buying his California home for a $1.8 million premium to its resale price, too.

Tax-Free California

Company: Occidental Petroleum (NYSE: OXY - News)
Perk recipient: Ray Irani
When Ray Irani moved to California to take Oxy's top job, he was apparently horrified by the Golden State's high income tax rate. So in 1991, Irani struck an employment deal that required Oxy to pay his state income tax bills.
Over the course of the next six years, the Los Angeles-based energy company shelled out $5.8 million to pay taxes for Irani. But the problem with paying taxes for someone is that even the tax payment is taxable. There's also tax on the tax on the tax, making this one of the most egregious corporate perks in America. Occidental, long a target of pay critics, responded to shareholder objections by paying Irani a lump sum of $95 million in 1997 to buy out his contract and rescind the company tax subsidy.

Flying Cash Cow

Company: Apple Computer (Nasdaq: AAPL - News)
Perk recipient: Steve Jobs
In 1999, Steven Jobs was "interim CEO" of Apple Computer, having returned in 1997 to the then-struggling company that had fired him a decade earlier. Directors were so grateful for his leadership and his refusal to accept any cash pay -- he still works for $1 annually -- that they gave him a plane.
A $90-million Gulfstream V is a pretty good perk. It became even better in 2002, when the Cupertino, Cal., company started reimbursing Jobs whenever he used his plane on company business. In 2002, Apple paid $1.1 million in flight-cost reimbursements for his use for the past two years.

Super Security

Company: Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL - News)
Perk recipient: Larry Ellison
To say that Oracle's Larry Ellison is security-conscious is a bit of an understatement. He installed a security system at his expansive northern California home, and Oracle, based in Redwood Shores, Cal., pays about $1.4 million annually to monitor it. (To put this in perspective, Qwest pays about $3,000 annually to protect Mueller.)
Few details are available about Ellison's "residential security program," except that it includes "security personnel."

Box Seats 'Til Death

Company: General Electric (NYSE: GE - News)
Perk recipient: Jack Welch
Nobody knew what fabulous perks Jack Welch got from GE. The 2000 proxy statement said he'd only received $54,019 in giveaways. In 2001, it was $171,772 -- mainly for financial counseling.
But during a bitter divorce, Welch's ex-wife detailed a multimillion-dollar litany of perks that GE provided -- both before and after Welch retired. Among them: fresh flowers and a wait-staff for his New York City apartment; floor-level seats for Knicks games; a sky box for Red Sox games; and VIP seating at the French Open. Experts say the resulting brouhaha is one of the reasons regulators revamped corporate-disclosure rules. Welch subsequently gave up the bulk of his perks.
